Week 12 Team of the Week: Coffee

Coffee is 10-0 for the first time since 1982 and ranked No. 1 this season for the first time in history. If there’s a simple reason, it’s defense.

Coffee is allowing 5.4 points per game, fewest of any GHSA team. The Trojans haven’t allowed a touchdown when a game was in question since Sept. 8, when they trailed Bolles of Jacksonville 6-0 in a game Coffee won 17-9.

Stetson Smith of BSN SPORTS joins coach Mike Coe and the Coffee seniors after the Trojans were honored as the GHSF Daily Team of the Week following their victory over Ware County.

Coffee didn’t allow any touchdowns last week in a 28-5 victory over defending Class 5A champion Ware County. That decided the Region 1-5A championship. Coffee allowed just 143 total yards and 8-of-25 passing.

For that, Coffee is GHSF Daily’s Team of the Week. The award is sponsored by BSN SPORTS and Titan Electric.
