Week 3 Player of the Week: Dougherty’s Kameron Davis

It's doubtful that any Georgia football player means more to a good team than Kameron Davis, Dougherty’s junior quarterback. He showed why Friday in a 33-30 victory over Stockbridge.

Davis, who has led his team to a 3-0 record and No. 9 Class 3A ranking, had a hand in all five of his team’s touchdowns and produced a career-high 502 rushing and passing yards.

“He just outruns everybody,” Dougherty coach Johnny Gilbert said of Davis’s skill set. “It seems like the kid has about 10 different gears to get outside, to explode, to cut back and then to explode to the end zone. He’s just amazing to watch.”

Davis, who is committed to Florida State, is GHSF Daily’s state Player of the Week. The award is sponsored by Sports Turf.
