Week 4 Student-Athlete of the Week: Christian Heritage’s Daniel Geil

Daniel Geil, a 6-foot-3 senior defensive end at Christian Heritage, is the scoutSMART Student-Athlete of the Week. Geil had seven solo tackles, two tackles for losses, one sack, three QB pressures and a blocked kick in the Lions’ most recent game, against Darlington on Sept. 2. Geil made all-region and all-area teams last season and was a preseason GHSF Daily all-state selection this year. He has a 4.4 GPA, a near perfect score on the ACT and scholarship offers from Shorter and Erskine. “Daniel is a diamond, one of those guys that does everything the right way with outstanding effort,” Christian Heritage coach Jay Poag said. “He is a very talented player, but that’s really only a small part of what he’s all about. I’m so proud of what he means to our school and our football program.”
