Week 9 Student-Athlete of the Week: Ware County’s Nikao Smith

Nikao Smith, a 6-foot-1 junior quarterback at Ware County, is the scoutSMART Student-Athlete of the Week. Smith has a 4.3 GPA and has received interest from Harvard, Yale and Dartmouth. In six games, he has passed for 1,017 yards and nine touchdowns, including a season-high three touchdowns in a 48-0 victory over Bradwell Institute last week. He was recently named one of the top junior quarterbacks in Georgia by GaVarsity Rivals. Ware County is 6-0 and ranked No. 1 in Class 5A. “I’ve been so impressed with Nikao’s work ethic and how much he celebrates his teammates' successes,” Ware County head coach Jason Strickland said. “He has continued to grow and develop as a player and student and is just scratching the surface of the young man he is going to be.”
