Alabama-Georgia Senior All-Star Game coming in December

The Georgia Elite Classic will add a senior Alabama-Georgia All-Star Game to its lineup this season. The game will be part of a four-game lineup on Thursday, Dec. 29, at Barron Stadium in Rome and will be televised by Peachtree TV. Lakeside High School Hall of Famer and former South Carolina kicker Mark Fleetwood will be the head coach of the Alabama All-Star Team. Fleetwood coached in Georgia at Peachtree Ridge for seven seasons (41-27) where 56 of his players went on the play in college, and he has been the head coach at Huntsville High for the last six years. As a quarterback and kicker, Fleetwood led Lakeside to the North Georgia finals in 1978 and then went to South Carolina, where he still holds the record for the longest field goal in school history with a 58-yard kick against Georgia in 1982. Fleetwood coached for 22 years on the college level, including recruiting and coaching such players as DeMarcus Ware (Troy), Terrell Owens (UT-Chattanooga) and Osi Umenyiora (Troy). The Classic will also include an eighth-grade game, a junior class matchup and a game between the freshmen and sophomores. To be nominated for the games, click here.
