Heritage (Ringgold) coach Slaughter resigns

Heritage of Ringgold coach E.K. Slaughter resigned Monday after 11 seasons, the final nine of which produced playoff berths. Heritage was 71-49 overall under Slaughter and 6-5 in 2024. Slaughter’s teams had only two losing seasons, though lost in the first round each of the past eight seasons.

“These have been 11 of the best years of my career,” Slaughter told the Chattanooga Times Free Press. “Heritage is a really special place, and everybody here, the faculty and students and booster club folks, have made this a special place. It's difficult. I love the guys and the coaches, and I always will.”
