Kell, Parkview roll to opening-night wins

The first two football games of the 2022 season are in the books, and Kell and Parkview were the winners in games Wednesday in the Corky Kell Classic at Johns Creek.

Kell defeated Cherokee Bluff 38-23 in Kell’s first game under coach Bobby May, who was at Westlake last season. Bryce Clayton was 14-of-24 passing for 263 yards and touchdowns to three receivers.

In Parkview’s 52-7 victory over Johns Creek, Georgia Power 100 receiver Mike Matthews had six receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns in the first half, both thrown by Colin Houck, who committed this week to play baseball at Mississippi State.
