North Atlanta, Parkview roll to victories in openers

North Atlanta and Parkview won the first two games of the 2023 season Wednesday night in the Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic at Kell High in Marietta.

Both were blowouts. North Atlanta beat Johns Creek 58-14 in the opener after leading 51-7 at halftime. Parkview defeated Kell 43-24 after leading 36-7 at half.

North Atlanta's Demeitrus Barnes rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries. Ian Reynolds was 7-of-7 passing for 163 yards and two touchdowns. He rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown.

North Atlanta made history last season by winning its first playoff game in history.

For Parkview, Antonio White had four tackles for losses. Jeremy Johnson had 3.5, and Mysean Nesbitt had three. AJC Super 11 WR Mike Matthews had three receptions for 70 yards and three solo tackles.
