Three schools find replacements for canceled games

Cedar Grove will play at Bainbridge on Friday, and Marist will play Alabama Class 5A champion Pike Road on the road Aug. 26 in the wake of four Miami schools pulling out of games with Georgia teams last week. Stephenson, the other Georgia team that lost a game, hasn’t found a replacement for its canceled game.

Metro Atlanta dominates 2022 AJC Super 11 team

With four players from Gwinnett County and nine from metro Atlanta, this year’s AJC Super 11 team is closer to “big city’' than “small town.” It’s cyclical in Georgia. In 2021, three Super 11 players were from South Georgia, three from Northeast Georgia and none within 30 miles of downtown Atlanta.

Four Florida schools cancel August games against Georgia opponents

Cedar Grove, Marist, Stephenson and Bainbridge had games canceled Thursday when their Miami-area opponents pulled out, leaving the Georgia schools scrambling to find replacements. The three-game Georgia vs. Florida Battle of the Borders, scheduled for Aug. 27 at DeKalb County’s Hallford Stadium, is off.
