Georgia Elite Classic begins naming coaches for all-star games

The Georgia Elite Classic, one of the biggest groups of all-star football games in the country, has named Ware County offensive coordinator Israel Troupe the head coach of the ninth-grade team, whose game against the sophomores will be one of five matchups on Friday, Dec. 29, in Rome at historic Barron Stadium.

The 10th-grade coach will be Sean O’Sullivan, currently the head coach at Pope High School. The two junior teams who will face each other will be headed by Barrett Davis, the head coach at Evans, and Jeremy Avery, an assistant coach at Warner Robins.

The games will all be broadcast on the Peachtree Sports Network. They will begin on Dec. 29 at 9 a.m. with a seventh-grade all-star game, followed by the eighth-graders at 11:15. The seniors will match up at 1:15 p.m., followed by the juniors at 4:15, with the freshmen and sophomores closing it out with a 7:15 kickoff.

Nominations are still being taken for all teams and can be found by clicking here.
