Kromah, Njoku earn top honors at Score Atlanta Awards Banquet

Lee County’s Ousmane Kromah was named Mr. Georgia Football at the first-ever Score Atlanta Georgia High School Football and Flag Awards Banquet at the Teamsters Local Union 728 Sunday afternoon.

Kromah, a Florida State signee, had 152 carries for 1,290 yards and 15 touchdowns this season and caught 31 passes for 693 yards and eight touchdowns.

McEachern flag football quarterback Chelsea Njoku was named Miss Georgia Football. She has passed for a state-best 3,580 and 72 touchdowns this season.

The announcement of the ‘Ricky Aspinwall Award’ was a moving moment at the event, highlighting the fragility of life and remembering a man who risked, and lost, his trying to stop violence. Aspinwall, 39, was a beloved coach at Apalachee and died in the Sept. 4 shooting at the school. He was awarded the inaugural award, accepted by his wife, Shayna, and his friend, Matt Turner.

The event was broadcast on the Peachtree Sports Network. Follow the link for a full breakdown of the event and a list of all players and coaches who received awards.
