Flag Football Player of the Week: Emani Scott, Therrell

Emani Scott, a senior quarterback at Therrell, is GHSF Daily’s Flag Football Player of the Week. Scott was selected last week as the lone Georgia player to compete in the U.S. Army Bowl's first Flag All-American Game to be played Dec. 18 in Frisco, Texas. Scott, a Therrell captain, has thrown for 2,799 yards and 49 touchdowns, rushed for 227 yards and seven touchdowns and caught a TD pass this season. “She has incredible arm strength and accuracy and a quick release that allows her to make every throw on the field,” Therrell coach Matthew Hazel said. “Emani does an awesome job of reading defenses and decision-making.” Scott is also a three-year starting guard on Therrell’s girls basketball team. Therrell is 18-2 and seeded No. 1 from Area 8 in the GHSA’s Division I (A-4A) tournament that begins Tuesday.

GHSF Daily, in partnership with the Atlanta Falcons, will recognize a Flag Football Player of the Week each Monday through the December state finals. The Falcons will provide a “Falcons Care Package” of souvenirs and merchandise to each weekly winner at the end of the season. Nominations can be sent by Sunday each week by clicking here.
