Flag Football Player of the Week: River Ridge’s Kathryn Hutchinson

Kathryn Hutchinson, a senior from River Ridge, is GHSF Daily’s Flag Football Player of the Week. In her team’s two games last week, both victories, Hutchinson passed for 312 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 167 yards and one touchdown. Hutchinson, a three-year starter, announced this month her decision to play flag football in college at Warner University in Florida. “She has an incredibly strong arm that enables her to complete more deep passes than any team we’ve played so far,” River Ridge coach Mark Lewis said. “That makes opponents respect passing plays. This year she has improved tremendously at recognizing when a passing play is not there, pulling the ball down and running with it. Her teammates all look up to her because she understands the game so well.”

GHSF Daily, in partnership with the Atlanta Falcons, will recognize a flag football player of the week each Monday through the December state finals. Nominations can be sent by Sunday each week by clicking here.
