Flag Football Players of the Week: Blessed Trinity’s Julia Geis, Jaclyn Johns

Julia Geis and Jaclyn Johns of Blessed Trinity are GHSF Daily’s Flag Football Players of the Week. Geis threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Johns in the second overtime of Blessed Trinity’s 19-13 victory over Milton for the Class 7A championship Thursday. The two connected on 46-yard TD pass earlier in the game. For the week, which included a 19-0 semifinal victory over Marietta, Geis was 29-of-41 passing for 226 yards and six touchdowns without an interception, and Johns had 12 receptions and 10 rushing attempts for 184 yards from scrimmage and intercepted a pass. Geis, a junior, has lettered in four sports, including softball, basketball and golf. A senior, Johns is committed to play lacrosse at the Naval Academy and is a member of the USA Lacrosse Women’s U18 Select Team. She has lettered in flag football, lacrosse and basketball. Johns is a granddaughter of former Georgia Tech star Johnny Gresham, who passed away in 2020. To honor him, Johns wore the jersey No. 30 in the championship game.

GHSF Daily, in partnership with the Atlanta Falcons, recognized 10 state players of the week this season. The Falcons will provide a “Falcons Care Package” of souvenirs and merchandise to each winner.
