North Cobb Christian coach Matt Jones called his school “a hidden gem” in September after his team beat Ringgold 41-39 in six overtimes.

There’s nothing hidden now about the football team, only the spotlight of the quarterfinals’ most conspicuous upset, a 30-27 victory over No. 1-ranked Savannah Christian in the Class 3A-A private division.

North Cobb Christian seniors were joined by David Miller and Michael Hancock of BSN Sports for the presentation of GHSF Daily’s Team of the Week award after their 30-27 victory over top-ranked Savannah Christian in the quarterfinals of the Class 3A-A private playoffs.

The win gave the Eagles a school-record 11 victories for the season and put them in their first semifinal.

Next up is Prince Avenue Christian, a three-time former state champion. That’s on the road. So was the Savannah Christian game.
