Week 1 Offensive Line of the Week: Hughes

GHSF Daily’s Offensive Line of the Week is Hughes’ king-sized unit of right tackle Tavaris Dice (6-6, 305), right guard Jermai Harris (6-1, 315), center Jamal Gowans (6-3, 300), left guard Cam Williams (6-3, 305) and left tackle Dontrell Glover (6-4, 312). They helped produce three 100-yard rushers – Carsyn Baker (144), Qwantavius Wiggins (141) and Jabari Jones (116) – and allowed no sacks in a 52-21 victory over south Fulton County rival Westlake. Hughes finished with 499 total yards. Offensive line coaches are Rokevouis Watkins and Michael Brown, both former SEC and NFL players. The tight ends coach is Larry Owens.  The award is sponsored by Alfa Insurance.

Hughes' offensive linemen are joined by the backs who helped contribute to almost 500 yards of total offense in a 52-21 victory over Westlake in Week 1 as they are presented the GHSF Daily Offensive Line of the Week award.
