Week 11 Student-Athlete of the Week: Ashton Woods, Walton

Ashton Woods, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound senior linebacker, is the scoutSMART Student-Athlete of the Week. Woods has 90 tackles, 13 tackles for losses and seven sacks this season for the Region 5-7A champion Raiders, who are 9-0 and ranked No. 2. He has a 3.88 GPA. “Ashton is a tremendous student-athlete that has worked extremely hard to maintain a stellar GPA all while achieving all-state honors at linebacker,” head coach Daniel Brunner said. “He is a throwback player with grit and determination to succeed in the classroom, on the field, and in life.” Woods is committed to North Carolina.
