Flag Football Player of the Week: Serenity Hickman, Columbus

Serenity Hickman, a junior quarterback and linebacker at Columbus, is GHSF Daily’s Flag Football Player of the Week. In leading the Blue Devils to a 10-0 start, Hickman has thrown for 1,594 yards and 31 touchdowns and scored seven touchdowns while pulling a team-leading 34 flags and intercepting nine passes. “As the quarterback, she’s plays with athletic fortitude,” Columbus coach Christian Grier said. “She is an explosive runner who has a great arm to throw the ball deep and challenge defenses. She executes plays with precision and is a great decision maker on the field. Defensively, she’s like a gnat. She’s all over the field and always swarming to the ball to make the play or be in it.” Hickman also is a lacrosse player. She has a 3.9 GPA.

GHSF Daily, in partnership with the Atlanta Falcons, will recognize a Flag Football Player of the Week each Monday through the December state finals.
