Week 4 Team of the Week: Schley County

The score progression of Schley County’s victory over Bleckley County tells much of the story.

With Schley scoring first, it went 7-0, 7-7, 7-14, 14-14, 21-14, 21-21, 28-21, 28-28, 28-35, 35-35, 35-42, 42-42, 48-42 in overtime. That’s four official lead changes and six ties.

“Friday night's game was one the best games I have ever been in during my career,” Schley County coach Darren Alford said. “There were so many lead changes throughout the contest with great plays being made by both teams.”

It was Schley County’s first victory in history over a ranked team from a higher classification. Schley is No. 1 in Class A Division II. Bleckley was No. 4 in Class A Division I.
