Week 6 Player of the Week: Buford’s Eddrick Houston

GHSF Daily state Player of the Week Eddrick Houston celebrates with his Buford teammates at the plaque presentation Wednesday at the school.

Eddrick Houston’s job as an edge rusher is to pressure quarterbacks and make negative-yards plays. The Buford junior added two sacks and another tackle for a loss to his totals last week in a 14-0 victory over Marietta.

Spurred on by Houston, a five-star recruit, the No. 1-ranked Wolves of Class 7A are allowing 8.6 points per game and holding opponents to 44.8 yards rushing and 105.2 passing. Houston, a junior, leads the Wolves in sacks (five), tackles for losses (nine) and QB hurries (11). He’s tied for second with 14 solo tackles.

Houston is GHSF Daily’s state Player of the Week. The award is sponsored by Sports Turf.
