Social Circle hadn’t beaten a ranked opponent in its football history, which began in 1978, and was a 29-point underdog Friday night against No. 8 Lamar County, which came to Redskins Field undefeated.

The Redskins then turned history on its head with a 39-7 victory in the Class A Division I game. Social Circle is 4-1 in coach Rob Patton’s third season, representing its best start since 2006. (See today's Four Questions for an interview with Patton.)
