Apalachee running back Favian Williford provided a bright spot in a rough season, running for 269 yards and three touchdowns in a loss to Loganville. New Hampstead QB Rashawn Truell passed for 500 yards and five touchdowns in an upset victory over Ware County, and Telfair County’s Bradyn Cook ran for 216 yards and two TDs in a region-clinching victory over Wilcox County.

Brookwood’s Brayden Tyson rushed for 299 yards in a victory over Norcross last week and now has 2,123, believed to be second-highest regular-season total ever in the GHSA’s highest classification. Other outstanding performances in Week 12 were turned in by Lee County QB Weston Bryan, Newton RB Zion Johnson and Warner Robins DB/WR Rasean Dinkins.

Two-way players turned in some of the best efforts of Week 11, as Athens Academy WR/DB Keyon Standifer, Carver (Atlanta) WR/DB Terrious Favors and Chattooga RB/LB Zayden Cook led their teams to important region victories. Dutchtown QB Michael Johnson accounted for 488 yards and six touchdowns, and Shiloh’s Marlin Mathis topped 1,000 rushing yards for the season.

Running backs turned in some of the outstanding efforts of Week 10, with Brookwood’s Brayden Tyson, Hillgrove’s Jaiden Moore, Kell’s Moonie Gipson and Lanier’s T.J. Peyton each rushing for at least 248 yards and three touchdowns in important region games last week. Morgan County wide receiver Jaylen Elder had 256 yards receiving in his team’s win.

Craig Dandridge of Cambridge, T.J. Peyton of Lanier and Jonathan Isom of Mitchell County put up big offensive numbers during important region victories in Week 9 of the regular season, while Rome’s Jaedon Harmon dominated on defense, playing only a half in a lopsided win over Lithia Springs.

Dodge County’s Jerimiah Burns, Houston County’s A.J. Hill, Valdosta’s Todd Robinson and Wheeler’s Josiah Allen posted the big numbers on offense in their teams’ Week 8 victories, while Worth County linebacker Shermon Smith recorded 15 solo tackles and five assists to help his team upset Thomasville.

Benedictine’s Chis “Bubba” Frazier, LaGrange’s Malachi Render-Fannin, Norcross’ Jahsaun Clarke and McEachern’s Zhay’Lyn Bell put up big numbers in their teams’ Week 6 victories, while Trion’s Logan Stokes made a difference on both sides of the ball in an overtime win against an out-of-state opponent.

Quarterbacks Luke Priester of Chattahoochee, Kyle Davis of Lakeside (Atlanta) and Trey Smith of Roswell each accounted for more than 400 yards of offense in Week 5, and Pierce County’s Caden McGatha wasn’t far behind with 384. Elsewhere, Thomson’s Jaris Sinkfield scored just about every way imaginable in a victory over Swainsboro.

Great rushing nights by Chattooga’s Zayden Cook and West Hall’s Elijah Hayes and outstanding all-around efforts by Jefferson’s Rett Hemphill, Toombs County’s T.J. Stanley and Warner Robins’ Skyler Williams were among the highlights of the fourth week of the season.

Passing was the name of the game over the weekend, as quarterbacks and wide receivers dominated the top five in Week 3. Athens Academy’s Keyon Standifer, Cherokee’s Tanner Savasir, Elbert County’s Jayvyn Hickman, Houston County’s Isaiah Mitchell and Warner Robins’ Rasean Dinkins put up big numbers in their teams’ victories.

Cook’s M.J. Tippins, Eastside’s Jayden Barr, Milton’s Ethan Barbour and Pope’s John Stuetzer put up big numbers on offense in Week 2 victories. On defense, Deuce Geralds created havoc again as Collins Hill defeated a top-10 opponent for the second consecutive week.
