Cherokee Christian wins GAPPS championship

Jeremiah Meder passed for 213 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 109 yards on 26 carries Friday night to lead Cherokee Christian of Woodstock to a 16-9 victory over Skipstone Academy in the Georgia Association of Private & Parochial Schools championship game.

Both of the touchdown passes went to Jayben Meder, including a 36-yarder in the third quarter that broke a 9-9 tie and stood up as the winning points.

The Warriors won their final 10 games after an early two-game losing streak and finished the year 11-2. Skipstone Academy of Griffin finished 11-1.
