Allatoona senior quarterback Maci Strickland is GHSF Daily’s Flag Football Player of the Week. Strickland passed for 1,123 yards and 14 touchdowns and rushed for 187 yards and eight touchdowns to help her team to a 6-0 week to open the season. That included a 20-19 victory over defending Class 7A champion Blessed Trinity and a 20-0 win over Milton, the team that put Allatoona out of the playoffs in the 2022 semifinals. Allatoona also beat West Forsyth, North Cobb, North Paulding and Buford. Strickland is a fastpitch softball player committed to Liberty. “She has always had a strong arm, but in addition to that, her decision-making has improved as well as her ability to anticipate throwing windows and throw the ball accurately into tight spots,” Allatoona coach Jordan Davis said. “She also has enough speed to be a problem for defenses to have to account for. As a senior that has played the previous three seasons, she has played a lot of football and has a lot of experience and is a great leader for the team.”

GHSF Daily, in partnership with the Atlanta Falcons, will recognize a Flag Football Player of the Week each Monday through the December state finals. The Falcons will provide a “Falcons Care Package” of souvenirs and merchandise to each weekly winner at the end of the season. Nominations can be sent by Sunday each week by clicking here or replying to this email.
