Flag Football Player of the Week: Lithia Springs’ Hannah McIver

Hannah McIver, a junior at Lithia Springs, is GHSF Daily’s Flag Football Player of the Week. McIver intercepted four passes, returning two for touchdowns, in shutout victories over New Manchester and Douglas County last week. McIver has 10 interceptions on the season and 24 for her career. She also has eight touchdowns as a wide receiver this year. “Hannah has great ball skills, and because of her long wingspan, playing safety was a no-brainer defensively,” Lithia Springs coach Kendra Pleasants said. “She covers a lot of ground, the entire field, which makes it intimidating for teams to throw the long pass. Offensively, Hannah can catch the ball and shield well. She is a leader on and off the field and a player any coach would love to have on their team.” Lithia Springs is 13-0, with only six points allowed, and ranked No. 1 by MaxPreps in Class 5A/6A entering next week’s playoffs.

GHSF Daily, in partnership with the Atlanta Falcons, will recognize a flag football player of the week each Monday through the December state finals. The Falcons will provide a “Falcons Care Package” of souvenirs and merchandise to each weekly winner at the end of the season. Nominations can be sent by Sunday each week by clicking here or replying to this email.
