Flag Football Player of the Week: Milton’s Lindsey Gergans

Lindsey Gergans, a senior at Milton, is GHSF Daily’s Flag Football Player of the Week. Gergans was 17-of-21 passing for 228 yards and four touchdowns in a 26-20 victory over No. 1-ranked McEachern in the Class 7A quarterfinals Thursday. She was 46-of-63 for 542 yards and nine touchdowns for the week, which included playoff wins over Woodstock and Peachtree Ridge. For the season, Gergans has thrown for 2,625 yards and 44 touchdowns for a 16-3 team that faces Allatoona in today’s Class 7A semifinals at the Falcons Training Facility in Flowery Branch. ““Lindsey throws every pass with intention and an uncanny ability to read the defense and executes the play,” Milton coach Clark Nixon said. “What Lindsey doesn’t have in size she has in her innate competitive edge and trust in her teammates. She exemplifies the mental intangibles such as focus, drive and desire.”

GHSF Daily, in partnership with the Atlanta Falcons, will recognize a flag football player of the week each Monday through the December state finals. The Falcons will provide a “Falcons Care Package” of souvenirs and merchandise to each weekly winner at the end of the season. Nominations can be sent by Sunday each week by clicking here or replying to this email.
