Flag Football Player of the Week: Parker Bridges, Loganville

Parker Bridges, a junior at Loganville, is GHSF Daily’s Flag Football Player of the Week. In four games, all victories, Bridges caught four touchdown passes, intercepted five passes, returning four for touchdowns, and returned a punt for a touchdown. She takes most pride in her defense and interceptions. “Playing defense for the Loganville Red Devils is something I’m very proud of,” Bridges said. “I believe our defense is one of the strongest in the state, and we go into every game with a chip on our shoulders. We play for each other every down. I wouldn’t want to play with anybody else.” Loganville, a state semifinalist last season, beat Heritage of Conyers 33-13, Winder-Barrow 33-8, Brookwood 12-0 and Grayson 34-6 and improved to 13-2 on the season. “The hardest part about coaching Parker is getting her off the field,” Loganville coach Thomas Mills said. “There isn’t much she doesn’t do for us – leading tackler, leading receiver and punter.’’

GHSF Daily, in partnership with the Atlanta Falcons, will recognize a Flag Football Player of the Week each Monday through the December state finals. The Falcons will provide a “Falcons Care Package” of souvenirs and merchandise to each weekly winner at the end of the season. Nominations can be sent by Sunday each week by clicking here.
