Week 10 Player of the Week: Milton’s Luke Nickel

Milton’s Luke Nickel was joined by head coach Ben Reaves for the presentation of GHSF Daily’s Player of the Week award.

In a game that decided first place in Region 6-7A last week, Milton junior quarterback Luke Nickel passed for school records of 457 yards and five touchdowns as the Eagles went on the road and defeated West Forsyth 45-14.

“He trusted his coaches, trusted the play calls and progressions he’s been taught, he let the ball go on time and without fear and gave his guys the chance to make plays, and they did,” Milton coach Ben Reaves said.

C.J. Wiley had six receptions for 254 yards, also a school record, and Debron Gatling had nine catches for 155 yards.

Nickel, who is committed to Miami, broke his own passing record (316 yards in 2022) and Devin Farrell’s TD passes record (four in 2021).

Nickel is GHSF Daily’s Player of the Week. The award is sponsored by Sports Turf.
