Hall of Fame special on Sunday to include all 45 inductees

Producers Roddy White and Matt Simms have been working hard this week taking the two-and-a-half-hour Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame ceremony and carefully whittling it down to one hour. The special will run this Sunday night at 8 on Peachtree TV as well as being streamed on the Atlanta News First (formerly CBS46) app and the National Federation High School Network. The show will include many of the special moments during the event at the College Hall of Fame as well as feature Pro Football Hall of Famers such as Richard Dent (Murphy), Champ Bailey (Charlton County) and Calvin Johnson (Sandy Creek). There are also a number of College Football Hall of Famers that will be included, a group that is headlined by Heisman Trophy winners Herschel Walker (Johnson County) and Charlie Ward (Central Thomasville). There are some very touching parts in the special, including former Tennessee great and College Hall of Famer Chip Kell (Avondale) being given his Hall of Fame jacket while sitting in a wheelchair, diligently focused on his gracious acceptance speech. In addition to video of David Pollack (Shiloh) getting his HOF jacket live on ESPN College GameDay, there was also footage of Takeo Spikes (Washington County) humbly accepting his HOF blazer while giving grace to his mother for teaching him to always appreciate those who take the time to honor you, Jeff Francoeur (Parkview) also accepted enthusiastically when he was taped with Yankee Stadium in the background while working the American League Championship Series for TBS. Perhaps the funniest part of the evening was when Clarence Scott (Trinity), a Pro Bowl player for the Cleveland Browns, blissfully danced his way down the red carpet. There was a standing ovation given to Clint Castleberry (Boys), who perished in World War II, and Andre Hastings (Morrow), who shared his sentiments with everyone while his mother stood with tears in her eyes.
